2nd Trimester
Say hello to your second trimester! For some Mummas, the season of morning sickness may be over; others are still experiencing the same. Everyone will have their own unique experience and that’s ok.
Cravings are common, and so is being put off by what used to be some of your favourite foods! The important thing is to stay healthy and focus on having nutritious meals. While it may be tempting to only reach for the types of foods that you crave or doesn’t make you chuck up, it isn’t best for you long run. If it’s getting hard to plan or cook meals on your own, why not try a meal service and save yourself the hassle?
These three months of your journey is considered more stable, so one of the things you can look forward to are those prenatal massages! Generally, spas will give services to Mummas who are safely out of their first trimester so go ahead and book your pampering treatments. Be wary of onsens and hot baths; these are fine if the water temperature is not above a certain level. Do consult with your doctor before trying anything.
This is also a period when you can no longer rely on your looser outfits and may need to consider maternity clothes. Fortunately, maternity fashions have greatly improved over the past few decades and options no longer resemble nightwear. There are plenty of local designers that make clever and comfortable outfits to conceal or show off your amazing, baby-growing body. So go on, treat yourself.
If you haven’t already done so, do start planning your birth and postpartum needs before the most tiring part of your pregnancy sets in.
